That feeling of a successful wedding trumps all – and we’re here to make that happen.
Being a local never gets old when you live in Southwest Michigan – being near so many things my husband and I love: kayaking, hunting for beach glass and craft brews.
After receiving a bachelor’s in Event Management from Grand Valley State University and being certified in wedding planning, I founded 1928 in 2013, and since have planned over 300 beautiful weddings as the company.
I’m blessed to have a career where I love what I do – and know that I can offer couples a great deal of guidance and knowledge. I thrive on order and organization, all while giving me a creative outlet to execute a vision and flow for the day we’ve spent so much time creating together!
I am an Ohio native, and now live in Sawyer, Michigan with my handsome husband, golden doodle pups, our new, sweet baby girl! I love the stillness of small town life, but also enjoy the hype of Southwest Michigan in the summer time.
I received a bachelor’s from Indiana Wesleyan University. From there, I moved to the Windy City to work for Today’s Chicago Woman magazine where I got to write fun pieces on fashion event and fancy food.
I eventually felt the call for slower shores and found myself in St. Joseph as a freelance designer. In 2014, I joined the team here at 1928 Planning Co. as Event Planner. I enjoy geeking out on good design and simplistic spaces. I love artful weddings that are a reflection of two people’s love story!
I was born and raised in a small northeast Ohio town and ventured down to Cincinnati, Ohio for my undergraduate studies. After completing my bachelor’s in English Literature, I moved to St. Joseph. I have loved every minute of discovering Michigan’s beaches and food with my golden retriever pup.
During my time at the University of Cincinnati, I found myself taking lead on planning multiple events, including UC’s largest yearly event, Relay for Life. While I mainly focused on community and charity events, I wanted to broaden my horizons and event outlook.
Once in St. Joseph, I discovered 1928 Planning – my perfect fit. In 2015, I joined the team as an Event Assistant and have since excitingly expanded my role as Event Manager.
